• Punter Southall has promoted senior consultants Adam Gillespie and Rob Wallace to principal level.
Gillespie joined Punter Southall in 1999 and provides both actuarial and investment advice to corporate and trustee boards. Wallace is a qualified actuary, working on a number of schemes of varying sizes on both the trustee and company advisory sides.
• Julius Baer has announced that Stewart Edginton has joined its discretionary portfolio management business in the UK. Based in London, he heads a team of twelve employees.
Edginton started his career as portfolio manager at Singer and Friedlander before moving to Merrill Lynch Portfolio Managers in 2003 where he served private clients. In this role he worked with the full range of wealth management tools available across the various advisory and discretionary mandates at Merrill Lynch.
In 2008 he moved to Zurich to set up and run a family office, before returning to the UK to join Julius Baer at the beginning of 2014.
• MGM Advantage has recruited Peter Carter as head of product.
Carter was previously product marketing director at MetLife, a role he occupied since March 2007. He has also had roles at Canada Life and Albany Life in a 20-year career in financial services.
• Mark Lilly has been appointed as senior account manager in Towers Watson’s technology and administration solutions UK business.
Lilly is a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute and joined from Equiniti Paymaster where he was an account director.
The appointment follows the announcement of a series of changes to the TAS business two weeks ago.
• Asset manager Northill Capital has announced the appointment of Ravi Thakur as head of Americas distribution, and the establishment of Northill’s US office in New York.
Thakur joins from Amundi Asset Management USA where he was head of distribution responsible for leading Amundi’s distribution effort in the US since 2011. Previously, he was with BNY Mellon Asset Management where he was head of separately managed accounts and offshore distribution for BNY Mellon/Dreyfus in New York.
