A free guide
on allocating equities for pension scheme trustees and employers
has been launched by Alexander Forbes Financial Services.
The guide outlines the benefits of investing in equities and why
trustees should consider overseas equities as well as UK equities,
and informs trustees and employers on the need to protect against
exposure to overseas currency risk. There is also a look at past
and predicted future volatility.
The online guide features illustrations showing how the expected
risk-return changes with different UK/overseas weightings, and looks
at the arguments for active fund management, as well as models on
various active/passive splits, warning how this could potentially
affect returns.
David Marlow, director at Alexander Forbes, commented: “UK
equities have been overweight in many schemes for far too long.
Trustees may benefit from lower volatility and higher returns by
spreading their assets.”
